Southborough, MA – December 29, 2008 – SpringFast® grommet edging from Device Technologies stands alone as THE comprehensive solution in the specialized space of wire and cable protection that meets all new and existing customer and industry requirements for flame retardant material, including Deca-PBDE’s per the WEEE’s RoHS directives.

With requirements for flame ratings of UL94V-0, and the necessary abrasion protection of signal and power cables in critical environments, Spring-Fast™® grommet edging has been available to the industry for many years providing this type of performance while eliminating the need for often toxic adhesives associated with other grommet materials.
The Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) was adopted by the European Union with a key provision of the directive stating that from July 1, 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market shall not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
DTi’s Pb-free products contain less than the following amounts of the six RoHS banned substances:
• Less than 0.1% Lead – Pb
• Less than 0.1% Mercury – Hg
• Less than 0.01% Cadmium – Cd
• Less than 0.1% Hexavalent Chromium – Cr (VI)
• Less than 0.1% Polybrominated Biphenyls – PBB
• Less than 0.1% Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers – PBDE
