In honor of Veteran’s Day and in tribute to his life and legacy, we salute Hector D. Petri, (1922-2011) Inventor, Mentor, Founder, Friend and Father.

DTI is saddened by the loss of our founder and dear friend who died on Oct. 1, 2011 at the age of 89. Hector started the business in 1984 and was an integral part of the management team up until a couple of years ago. We will miss his innovation, profound curiosity and constant striving for new and improved products. In this same vein, Hector challenged each and every one of his employees to continually grow and exceed beyond expectations.

“Charming, interesting person..”, “..his creative thoughts and ideas were always remarkable”, “…one hell of a smart engineer and quite a philosopher in his own right. “ , ” ..a lot of fun to be with..” , “…gratified by his life achievements and may his legacy live on.” were just some of the many testimonials expressed from co-workers and colleagues. Many of us remember his scratchy hand writing and the many times he shot an idea down with the term, “hefferdust!”

Farewell, Hector, our good friend. We will miss you, but never forget you.

The memorial service will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main St., Southborough, MA
