DTi Spring-Fast SL-FST is EN 45545 Compliant and Available for Immediate Shipping

Hamburg, Germany June 11, 2019 – DTi device technologies GmbH (DTi GmbH), a subsidiary of Device Technologies, Inc. (DTi) and leading manufacturer of wire protection products, is pleased to announce Spring-Fast SL-FST Transit and Rail Series, the latest addition to its successful Spring-Fast Wire Protection Grommet Edging family of products. Spring-Fast SL-FST is now in stock and available for immediate shipping to the Eurozone marketplace.

Today, all materials used in rail vehicles must follow the EN 45545-2 standard in order to achieve the highest level of safety possible in the event of a fire. This standard affects manufacturers of rail vehicles including high-speed trains, regional trains, and trains in industrial transportation.

Nick Petri, Managing Director of DTi commented, “Until now, limited options have been available for core wire protection to satisfy EN 45545 compliant safety standards in the European marketplace and DTi’s SL-FST meets this demanding standard.

DTi’s SL-FST series is the fastest, safest, and most reliable way to protect wires, cables, and tubing from abrasion. It can save 49% of the installation costs of grommets and glue because it locks on with finger pressure in seconds, eliminating solvents, adhesives, ancillary materials, and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) while installing in half the time of traditional nylon grommets. It is ideal for demanding Transit and Rail applications and meets the strict testing requirements of EN 45545-2. SL-FST is fully encapsulated in a flexible non-halogen, flame retardant, low smoke, low corrosive, and low toxic thermoplastic compound for added abrasion protection.

Benefits:

  • 49% Cost savings (installs for half the cost of plastic MS21266)
  • 9.5x Productivity increase
  • Highest standards of performance
  • Improved safety – no toxic adhesives/solvents

Features:

  • Eliminates installation adhesives and cleaning solutions while improving productivity
  • RoHS and DFAR compliant
  • Multi-axis flexibility for flanged holes, inside and outside corners
  • Indoor and outdoor use
  • Continuous edge protection
  • Excellent resistance to abrasion, water absorption, and low and high temperatures
  • Improves ergonomics during assembly

In addition to use on railway vehicles and control systems, the SL-FST can be deployed in a variety of other high-performance applications such as aircraft interiors, avionics, medical equipment, telecom and military vehicles.
