DTi Launches Multi-Axis Wire Protection for Flanged Metal Edges

Southborough, USA – July 17th, 2025.    Device Technologies (DTi) has launched a Spring-Fast® grommet variant, which offers multi-axis wire protection for flanged edges.  Flanged or roll-formed edges on metal enclosures in product construction are common in many manufacturing sectors.

This new product complements the range.  Now, virtually any metal edge can have Spring-Fast applied to it to protect wiring from chafe.

Metal fabricators are seeing the opportunity to add value to their enclosures for OEMs.  They build the enclosure, and DTi protection products help optimize it for their OEM clients so that it is delivered pre-protected, ready to support the products OEMs want to build.   It helps that, in comparison to nylon and its required adhesive, DTI solutions reduce your assembly time & costs.

Wire Protection for All Edge Types

The castles are “teeth” made from an encapsulated steel substrate designed to angle inward for edge retention without adhesive.

Wiring Protection

Grommets protect wiring from chafe & abrasion.  In serious cases, chafe can cause arcing, sparking & even fires—most often low levels of chafe cause equipment discrepancies and poor performance.

Nylon caterpillar grommets involve a costly, labor-intensive, and multi-step process that ranges from edge preparation to fixturing & special handling for solvents and adhesives. To compound those issues, it has a relatively high incidence of dis-bonding, which creates rework, increasing the cost of poor quality.
