Device Technologies Inc (DTi) is attending AIX 2025 – Stand 6C80/D and will have a replica of a Junkers A50 tail section on display.

It is a way of honoring the past while recognizing that nothing stands still …and that from DTi's point of view, OEMs can take advantage of newer better wire protection solutions.

To meet that goal, for over a decade DTi has been cultivating working relationships with many top seating companies: Collins, Thomson, Adient, TSI, Recaro, Safran, Encore, Acro, and Zim. It has proposals in with Expliseat, Mirus, AliceBlue, and Stelia.

In 2024 those seating company relationships created a phenomenal 73% growth in sales for Spring-Fast® wire protection.  They understood that wire protection using the old nylon grommets and their required adhesive was both inefficient and costly…and that Spring-Fast  offered a much better solution.

Spring-Fast installs fast with no adhesive, creating a 9.5x productivity increase and at least 49% cost savings – with no failures in over 30 years.

Junkers A50

The Junkers A50 was designed around 1928. It was a small lightweight plane for transport and travel. It incorporated the all-metal construction and design principles of the larger Junkers aircraft of that era: a streamlined fuselage of corrugated Duralumin, a low-mounted cantilever wing, and large flight control surfaces.

It could be outfitted with landing gear, skis, or floats for different operational conditions. It was the first all-metal, single-engine, low cantilever wing transport aircraft.  Duralumin was a trade name for a strong, hardened, lightweight aluminum/copper alloy.

It featured twin open cockpits which likely made for an exhilarating -if windblown- flight reminiscent of the older biplanes.

Air travel has come a long way from the original Junkers A50. However, the A50  has been reimagined with new electronics and avionics (and a parachute) and is now back on the market almost 100 years later. Starting at $199,000.

The new technology built into the A50 called for better wire protection.

The Benefits of Spring-Fast

Spring-Fast provides that with a no adhesive finger pressure install, a 9.5x productivity increase, and at least 49% cost savings – with no failures in over 30 years
